LEDECO and UIBE Joint Study Tour for Global Vision and Multilateral Spirits 2023

From 25 September to 2 October 2023, LEDECO Centre Swiss (LEDECO) organized an in-depth “Study Tour for Global Vision and Multilateral Spirits” jointly with the University of Business and Economics (UIBE) of China. 21 students from different majors and grades participated the tour. Prof. Xiankun Lu, Managing Director of LEDECO Centre Swiss provided guidance for the students through the whole tour.

2023年9月25日-10月2日，瑞士箂科中心和对外经贸大学成功合作举办“欧洲国际组织深度实践”研学活动，共有来自对外经贸大学多个专业和年级的21位学生在对外经贸大学国际合作交流处安菲菲老师的带领下参加了此次研学。箂科中心执行主任卢先堃教授全程指导并参与了此次研学活动。

During the study tour, the delegation visited 7 international organizations, including World Trade Organization (WTO), World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), World Bank Representative Office in Geneva, International Trade Center (ITC), International Labour Organization (ILO), United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD), and International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC), as well as the Permanent Mission of China to the WTO. Jean-Marie Paugam, Deputy Director-General of the WTO; Werner Zdouc, Director of the Knowledge and Information Management, Academic Outreach and WTO Chairs Programme of the WTO; Maria Dimitriadou, Special Representative of the World Bank to the WTO and the United Nations; and Ma Lianfei, Counsellor at the Permanent Mission of China to the WTO, delivered on-site lectures to the delegation in person. The students listened attentively and asked questions actively, learning about the history and functions of the above international organizations, the opportunities and challenges they are facing, and the role China plays. They also gained a comprehensive understanding of the internship and job opportunities and related requirements of these international organizations. At their farewell dinner, Chai Xiaolin, Director, Trade in Services and Investment Division at the WTO, Qin Xuan from ITC and Tang Sisi from WIPO have also attended and talked with the students.

期间，对外经贸大学代表团共参访了7个国际组织和中国常驻WTO代表团，包括世贸组织（WTO）、世界知识产权组织（WIPO）、世界银行驻日内瓦代表处、国际贸易中心（ITC）、国际劳工组织（ILO）、联合国贸发会议（UNCTAD）和红十字会与红新月会国际联合会（IFRC）等。WTO副总干事Jean-Marie Paugam；WTO知识与信息管理、学术教育和WTO教席司司长Werner Zdouc；世界银行驻WTO和联合国特别代表Maria Dimitriadou；中国常驻WTO代表团新公组组长马连斐等亲自给代表团做了讲座。同学们认真听讲、积极提问，深入学习了上述国际组织的历史和功能、面临的机遇和挑战以及中国所发挥的作用，也全面了解了这些国际组织的实习和求职机会以及相关要求。此外，在欢送晚宴上，WTO服务贸易和投资司司长柴小林、ITC官员秦瑄、WIPO官员唐思思等与同学们进行了交流。

In response to the international community’s call to address climate change and reduce carbon emissions, LEDECO has launched a special “Green Study Tour”, advocating for green travel for students participating in the study tour. During their stay in Switzerland, the students fully used public transportation or walk to the international organizations.

为响应国际社会关于应对气候变化、减少碳排放的呼吁，箂科中心特别推出“绿色研学”计划，倡导参与研学活动的学生绿色出行。此次贸大学生在瑞士期间，完全使用公共交通和步行。
